A bit of context.
I'm from Canada. I've lived in the UK and Ireland, spent a sabbatical in Italy, and now call Philadelphia home.
My PhD is in equestrian biomechanics. These days, I work in Major League Baseball as a lead quantitative analyst in computer vision. I build things, work with movement data, and keep coming back to questions about rider performance.
Riderprep is the equestrian side of that curiosity. I share rider biomechanics with a TikTok community of 30,000 followers, and this site gives me room for longer explanations, research, and ideas that don't fit in a short video.
I want it to be useful to riders, coaches, and fellow researchers. You don't need a PhD to be interested. You do get references if you want to go deeper.
And yes, I'm also the person making game-preview memes in PowerPoint for my colleagues. The science and the sense of humour come together.
